A mere 15 minutes from Bloomhill are the enchanting Mayfield Gardens, one of the world's largest privately owned cool-climate gardens. Spanning 65 hectares within a 5,000-acre working farm near Oberon, NSW, this is a place that stops you in your tracks.

A Garden Like No Other

Inspired by Europe's great horticultural estates, Mayfield Garden is a living work of art. Whether you come in autumn when the deciduous trees blaze with colour, spring when the roses and bulbs burst into bloom, or any other time of year, the experience is nothing short of spectacular.

The garden is open 363 days a year, from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, making it easy to plan a day trip straight from Bloomhill.

Highlights You Won't Want to Miss

The Water Garden

Walk behind a cascading waterfall in the Grotto, admire the 16.5-metre Obelisk, and pause at the beautiful Copper Tree Fountain. This section alone is worth the trip.

The Box Hedge Maze

Navigate Australia's largest private box hedge maze, set within the Hawkins Family Estate. A genuine challenge for adults and an absolute thrill for kids.

The Cascade and Temple

An 80-metre cascade tumbles down toward a classical temple, framed by mature trees and manicured hedging. One of the most photographed spots in the garden.

Seasonal Festivals

Mayfield's seasonal festivals transform the estate into something even more magical. Each one opens the full 65 hectares to visitors, with special activities and events tied to the season:

  • Autumn Festival (April) Peak deciduous foliage in golds, reds and russets. Rowboats on Mayfield Lake are a highlight.

  • Spring Festival (September/October) The Rose Garden takes centre stage, alongside carpets of spring bulbs in full bloom.

  • Summer and Winter Stargazing tours, tobogganing, and exclusive glamping packages with multi-course dinners under the stars.

Eat, Shop, and Linger

After exploring the grounds, settle in at the Mayfield Café for a paddock-to-plate menu made with produce grown right on the property. Browse the nursery for plants to take home, or pick up something special at the gift shop. It's the kind of place you won't want to rush.
